A Bus Stand

A bus stand is a place where buses shop and start from. It is a crowded (জনাকীর্ন) and familiar (পরিচিত) place to all. From bus stand people get into the buses and get down from the buses. In a big bus stand there is a shed (ছাউনি) over the platform (স্টশন প্লেটফরম) but at a small station it is open. A bus stand has its ticket counter and waiting room for male (পুরুষ) and female (মহিলা).
Different types of restaurants (রেস্তরা), shops, newspaper corners, book stalls and other stationary shops are situated beside it. Passengers (যাত্রীগন) come here from different places and also go different places from here. Passengers always gather (ভীড় করা) here to collect their tickets. They push one another to go ahead. When the buses come it becomes a noisy place and when the buses leaves the station it becomes calm and quiet (শান্ত).The hawkers (ফেরিওয়ালারা) make different sounds, beggars continue their begging and all people also continue their own works in the stand. Thus a bus stand is a place of great noise.
